Phil Fothergill

Phil started his broadcasting career at the BBC in Brighton before he became part of Swansea Sound’s original team in 1974. At first, he produced many of the daytime programmes but eventually moved to The Breakfast Show after Chris Harper left. He launched the popular Early Risers Club and interviewed entertainment legends of the day such as Windsor Davies and Max Boyce plus the legendary Ryan and Ronnie during their run at The Grand Theatre. After 4 years at the station, Phil moved to Texas to work in radio over there before returning to the UK for a job at Radio Orwell in Ipswich. He then became Programme Controller of Chiltern Radio serving Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire before moving to Anglia Television and Thames TV as a continuity announcer. He now runs a successful video production company and is very excited to be back on our local airwaves every Wednesday with Early Breakfast from 5am.
